Get Ready for AR Porn Videos

BaDoinkVR and ARPorn.com have collaborated and released an AR demo that features a real 3D person. In other words, you won’t be looking at a computer-generated person. This is a first for AR technology.

In order to showcase the ability of this technology ARPorn.com and BaDoinkVR teamed up and released this demo featuring adult film star Susy Gala. Augmented reality can be integrated into our daily living and this reality continues to grow.

AR overlays sounds, haptic sensations, visuals and even scent onto the real world around the viewer. This is how an ‘augmented reality’ is created. You already see AR being used around you and may not even be aware of it. The text displayed in our peripheral vision and the layering of 3D computer generated graphics over reality are two common ways AR is used today.

Many industries will gain to benefit from augmented reality technology, including the adult entertainment industry. It’s very ready to start using this growing technology to provide more realistic and immersive experiences for users like never before.

Right now you can view AR content on certain Smart devices and AR glasses (HoloLens). If you’re using a smartphone it will need to have a front-facing camera; tablets also. You can use a Samsung GearVR headset or the Google Cardboard device as long as the front cover is removable so the camera can be exposed.

How to Watch the Demo Video

If you want to check out the demo you need an Android smartphone or a VR headset. If you’re using the GearVR you need to disable the service. You’ll also need an AR marker image (printout or uploaded).

How It Works

The demo works through WebGL Polyfill and ARjs stereo rendering with the image fed from the smartphone’s camera, according to Scott Camball of ARPorn.com. This image becomes the background of the scene in mono.

According to Camball, “The AR marker tracks and determines the location of Susy Gala within the background image. A stereo left-right video file is rendered onto the marker and Chrome Key removes the green screen from the video. The result is actually 3D object contained in a 2D scene.” Viewers can then move around her and watch her dance from multiple viewpoints. Camball also says the current AR demo video lacks depth because it’s 3D but it’s being rendered into a flat video file.

Camball says ARPorn.com is currently in the process of developing an additional demo clip that will use volumetric video to create the much-needed depth. In addition, the new demo clip won’t require a marker and users can use any flat surface as the AR marker. So that’s something you’ll want to keep an eye out for once you’ve watched the existing demo clip.

AR – Not Just For Mobile Games

You might already know that “Pokemon: Go,” a very popular mobile game, was, in a way, the game that really showcased augmented reality technology. The app overlays computer-generated visuals onto the viewers real environment.

Now, using the videos from BaDoinkVR and the technology from ARPorn.com viewers can watch Susy Gala dance and tease them right in their own personal space. Be it a bedroom, living room, anywhere.

Camball states that being able to feature an image of an actual person is a new step in this technology and a big step in the right direction for blending real and virtual worlds together. We’re going to start noticing augmented reality technology among many industries including automotive, healthcare and even education. However, the only industry ARPorn.com is focused on, according to Camball, is the adult entertainment industry.

Camball says, “We see augmented reality as a real game-changer for the adult entertainment industry. I’m not just talking about typical pornography either, but AR stripteases, or AR cam shows, as well.” He continues to state bringing the image of a real adult film star into the home of the viewer offers ultimate interactivity. “That will pave the way for AI hologram relationships. We are all very excited!”

Future of AR and VR Porn

Camball says that he believes there will be room for both AR and VR Porn technologies in the adult industry. In fact, there could even be a lot of overlapping taking place when we bring these technologies together. This means that in the near future, we’ll see headsets being released that support both AR and VR, rather than specific headsets for each technology.

Right now it seems too ‘Science Fiction’ to imagine what the world may hold for augmented reality technology and the world of adult entertainment, but we do know the potential for great things is undeniable. Especially when you have dedicated industry pioneers like ARPorn.com and the most innovative adult companies like BaDoinkVR doing their part to make an immersive and more realistic experience for viewers.
